That was a fantastic puzzle with CURRENT events for sure.

I really liked the concept also. I got a long distance call right in the middle and that threw me.......but not any worse than usual for me. More please.

I really enjoyed this, Sploofishy, thanks! It was kind of like your One Trivial Year puzzles, only with current events. Here were my two favorite clues/phrases:

sounds nutty, but it's not - acorn shortage affecting squirrels on the east coast of the usa
did you notice? - the moon was the closest it has been to the earth in fifteen years

I had read about both of these. We get lots of squirrels around here, and I had noticed they weren't as chummy as they usually are. Anyway, very fun puzzle!
