I'm now reading up on people and events I had never heard of before taking the WP.

If we went to college, would we get credited hours for real life experiences ?? In my two action packed years with Sploofus, I have far surpassed all the knowledge I ever learned before earning my GED.

A real workout - but very well constructed. And such a cheery topic

sorry about the spelling error!
But I thought the theme was a nice festive one for Xmas.More gruesomes to come.
By the way my wife tried to solve the puzzle today (hence the dropped points!) but her total currently leaves us in the top 10...not for long I'm sure but I know the editors will adjust us off the list if we stay ninth!

Editor who reset me:

Thanks for the reset.

But I got 2 repeat puzzles from the first attempt before the problem, so I certainly don't deserve to be #2. Though I'm sure I won't be #2 for long, still there is no fairness in being anywhere near the top. So please delete my results for the sake of fairness. I enjoyed taking the WP and the learning which resulted. That's all I care about.

I've never had to ask for many resets, but usually when I'm reset I don't get any puzzle I had before and feel comfortable with that result. I don't feel comfortable with these results.

Whenever you get a reset, we ask that should you get a puzzle that you had before, you use the same letters. Otherwise it would be unfair to all others.

I am the editor who reset your WP. We appreciate your honesty and dedication to fair play. Please submit a support ticket about this so that we can get it sorted out properly. Thank you.

Just FYI all word puzzle players: When you receive a reset on a WP, if you happen to get any repeat phrases, please be sure to use the same number of letters that you did the first time around.

Thank you.

The only problem with that is - if it's a long phrase, as mine were, I wouldn't remember which letters I had used.

Challenging puzzle by Barry , but educational for sure.
One does learn a lot playing Sploofus.

I appreciate your integrity, but as has been said - you wouldn't remember
all the letters you had used in the previous attempt - so why lose 5000
points over a simple matter of needing a re-set.
I trust your honesty, as do the Editors obviously, so just go with the flow....
I've needed to ask for several resets in the past - and rarely get a repeat
question - but when I do, I never remember what I wrote the first time.
And as my points are usually about the same, whether I had a reset or
not, it doesn't seem to matter much.

The editors let me keep the 5,000 points - just removed me from the leaderboard, with no bonus points. I thought that was extremely generous. I was completely happy with no points and being removed. I just wanted to learn from the puzzle. I'm not good enough player for points to really be an issue with me.

I'm a player who generally ranks in the 40th-100th area on a WP, and because of my job, I rarely get to take both WPs in a day. So....I'm just not a contendah! But I'm grateful for the editors' decision.

I had to miss a few wp's this month - today has been a really hard day for me - I could have done with missing this one - sorry Barry - obviously well researched - but my least favorite subject ever.

Subject was somewhat ghoulish but it was well written & interesting. Nice job, Barry

Maybe should have been a Halloween puzzle
