If we all had a duck in our lives maybe we wouldnt be mad at each other, HILARIOUS, and I love how the duck was quacking, almost like in response to the guy. What a hoot!

Too cute!!

About 15 springs ago, my then husband and I found a tiny baby duckling in our back yard. No mother or siblings to be found, so naturally, we adopted her. We went to the local feed store to get some grains for her. It was touch and go for a few days as to wether she would survive or not.

Once she got stronger, we put some water in the wheel barrow, and put her in. Well, if she didn't start swimming around and around in circles.....BACKWARDS!!
That's how she got her name....Dizzy Duck.
Dizzy would follow us around the yard as we were gardening or doing yardwork. We had 7 cats at the time, and for the most part they would tolerate Dizzy, as she them.
During the summer we taught her how to fly, by gently tossing her in the air. Each time, she would fly farther. One time, she flew directly into the side of our neighbour's house, but she was none the worse for wear. Eventually she would fly away for a couple of hours at a time, but she was always home before dark.

When autumn arrived, Dizzy flew away, and didn't come back. We were expecting this to happen, but it still didn't make it any easier. I missed her terribly.

The following spring, Dizzy came home and stayed for a few days. She returned the following 2 springs, but that was the last time I saw her.
She was a GREAT duck!

Farewell Dizzy, wherever you are.

Wendy, loved your story about Dizzy Duck. That was worth a couple of chuckles and smiles. (especially the part about flying into the neighbor's house!)

Hopefully she's off somewhere raising dozens of little ducks.

Crazy,

If I throw my husband against the neighbor's house, will he leave next fall and not come back? Sounds like a plan to me.

Me.

Chick, I'm certainly no expert. But I would take the T Boone Pickens approach, when he says "drill drill drill."

I would say 'throw, throw, throw."

(And report back to us when he returns)
