I got this in an e-mail....

I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover so mething up.
I'm sharing this with my friends. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

I join the ranks of the "never knew dodos." Sixty-three years old and I never knew about the lock tab, that really pisses me off. Why didn't Reynolds put a flag on that thing? Don't they realize what happens to the end of the roll when it falls out of the box? They owe me and every other consumer of their product a huge apology.

Well that's just great! I've been in and about a kitchen for over 40 years!! How come nobody told us about this????? Problem is - now I'm so doggone old, I'll probably forget that "handy little tab" the next time I use the foil or plastic wrap and wham! Arrgghhh!!!

Well this just proves it - you really DO learn something new every day!

I just wasted about 4 feet of of foil testing out the tabs to see if they really worked. That is the simplest thing. Honestly, why doesn't every foil and Saran Wrap TV commercial make that obvious??

I am flabberghasted.

Me too, Suzer - I never knew about that and I can't count the times I've chased a roll of foil or clingfilm (is that what you call Saran Wrap?) around the kitchen because it came out when I tried to use it!

D'oh! Thanks from me, too, Quackinator!

I recently joined the ranks when I got this same e-mail. How can people as smart as Sploofusers miss out one something so simple and yet so handy? Oh, wait, too much ?????

Well, I'll be doggoned! I never knew about that, either. I just went and checked and the tabs are on both ends of my Cling GladWrap, but not on any of the other miscellaneous boxes I have there, like tinfoil. Maybe I'll start looking more closely at boxes of things I buy from now on! Thanks for the info!

Shazam, I say in my Gomer Pyle voice.

And that got me to checking. I just noticed the tabs on my peppermint pattie wrappers.
I can re close them and finish my treat later!
