LONG QUIZZES

Why would somebody create a quiz with 20 questions when they could make it 2 quizzes of 10 each. I won't take quizzes that are more then 10 questions - they just take too long for me. What are other peoples thoughts?

If it is a topic I like, I will do it if I have time. 20 questions on average would take me about 2-3 minutes, so not a huge investment of time. I would rather take a 20 question quiz on...say one certain book or movie, then take two different ones.

When I have enough questions to make more than one quiz, I do. If there are only 12 or 15 possible questions then of course I would make a longer quiz. I don't see that it makes much difference if 20 questions takes longer to answer then 10, everyone else taking that quiz is answering the same 20 questions, so it will take them longer too. It wouldn't have any effect on the standings for that quiz.

I did a 50 question 'pub trivia', for the simple reason that it was a real pub trivia I had written and carried out.
I received many kind remarks for producing a 'proper' quiz!

I have always been under the impression that you can only get 100 points max no matter the total amount of questions. So when I see a quiz with more than 10 I will skip it too. It's kind of like Doing extra homework just for the fun of it.lol

Well Shear, if you look at them like homework and only do them for the points, then I agree...never bother with ones over ten questions

If it's a well written quiz, I don't mind how many questions there are.
I took Surreymans 50 question "pub" quiz and I have to say it is a truly challenging quiz with a massive variation of subject matter... an excellent all-rounder ;o)
I suggest you all try it - Nice quiz Surreyman, I thought it was great.. thanks !

Good to see an author writing a quiz for fun factor rather than just trying to amass a wealth of points !
But hey that's just my opinion ;o)

If the topic is interesting and the quiz is well-written, then I think it's great to have a longer quiz. Kind of like how I sat through 3 1/2 hours of Return of the King and was sorry to see it end...

Go for it Surreyman, I love your quizzes regardless how long/short they are! It's nice when people take the time to author some real trivia!

Well, you asked for it!
Another one on the way (if it gets through the editors!).

Ten questions is the minimum requirement for a quiz. MINIMUM! I must confess that many of my quizzes have more than ten questions for a few reasons. My movie quizzes usually have 20+ questions simply because there is way too much in the movies to narrow it down to ten questions. I also feel that people probably won't bother to take a sequel or part two quiz. I also make quizzes like 'All 50 State Capitals' and 'All 32 NFL Team Names'. Those quizzes must be over 10 questions!
