FOOTBALL AND THE PRESIDENT ELECT

There are [ and will be] a multitude of challenges and possible crises ahead for the United States and the free world.
The incoming POTUS, Barack Obama, needs all the support and cooperation he can gather. Partisan politics needs to be at a minimum.

However, I see his "re-election" campaign in 2012 in trouble already.

Heading in to the Inauguration Ceremonies on Saturday, he and V.P elect Joe Biden and their families just took an historic railroad trip from Philadelphia through Baltimore and into Washington D.C.

Two key battleground states- Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Both cities football teams just lost their NFL playoff games. The good news- he has four years to make it up to them.

The Kennedys were famous for their family football games.

I look forward to the Obama family basketball games as the girls grow these next years (unless they don't like the game). It will be delightful to see them grow.

One of my favorite SNLs ever was the one with Chelsea proving to be the real brains of the family, with everyone sneaking around to get her for advice on all the important policy decisions, while she talked on the phone to her friends and chewed gum.

Maybe the BCS mess will be inspired by his take on changing the college football playoffs! Besides, I can tell he is a Steeler fan!

Hmmmm! I'm sure Barack said the same thing in Baltimore during the primaries.

Well, if no proof- shut my mouth!

Go Steelers!

I'll root for the Orioles now.

I agreed he repeated his "didn't have a team in Hawaii when growing up there"

I also heard him say the Steelers with Franco Harris; Lynn Swann; Terry Bradshaw and the word WAS.

Just a little doubt perhaps.
Aren't the Bears fans wondering?

Well, actually it won't matter. He'll be a Redskins fan now.

No, once a Steeler fan, always a Steeler fan. We are spread all over the country and you will find a "Steeler" bar in opposing team cities everywhere. I wish it was due to just football enthusiasm but it more because of poor economy and people moving away for jobs. But they still remain Steeler fans!
