ON THE DAWN....

Of a new era....

I honestly never thought I would see...

Here's to a more focused America...

I could go on, but I would piss off about 30K members.

HRH...Me.

There is no pissing off today in terms of the momentousness of this occasion.

Somewhere around 140,400 union soldiers died in the Civil War, starting the birth pains for this day to come.

Over 1,000 died fighting for the Civil Rights Movement, including Martin Luther King, Jr.

Congratulations to the United States of America. We have all overcome - THIS day.

To Her Royal Hind*ss. Agree totally! Maybe it will be "cool to be smart", for the younger generation. Wouldn't that be great!

Not being an American citizen, but a citizen of the world, I am also very excited.
As I watched the inauguration today, I was really moved, and was suddenly overcome with emotion.
This is a GREAT day in history!

Hopefully, Chick, you would NOT upset 30K members with your praise of President Obama. No matter what we thought during the campaign or how we voted, he is now OUR president. As such, he deserves our support and our prayers. He'll have to hit the deck running tomorrow morning, with little time for on-the-job training.

I wish him well.

I was truly moved during the inaugural speech. We all, in my office, stopped work to watch the entire inauguration on cnn.com ... I wholeheartedly believe President Obama will give a new face to the U.S., will make HUGE strides in the opinion of the U.S. around the world and also perform amazing feats inside the U.S. (assuming, of course, that it really IS within his power to carry out all the changes he intends - I have an opinion that for all the great policies most presidents - or any world leaders- wish to implement, the power to achieve those things are not always in their hands alone).

Lifting my glass to all of you in the U.S. today - I'm excited for and wish you all the best.
