As it has been noted on another post, the backlog of quizzes that need editing grows faster than the editors can edit. I think it's safe to say that there has been a minor "explosion" of new members in the past couple months or so and I suspect that's one reason the editors have fallen behind -- more members, more things to edit.

I've also noticed that many of the Word Puzzles are being written by the editors. Those of us who are platinum members are able to write Word Puzzles, too. I have one about ready to submit.

Would the rest of the platinum members step up to the plate and submit a WP to their editor, too? Surely that would free up some of the editors' time that could then be spent on editing.

Salzypat - What a timely and much appreciated request! As Pat has pointed out, we are editing as fast as we can, but there are many other chores that need our attention, and writing WordPuzzles does take up time that could be spent editing.

Every Platinum member has a Personal Puzzle Editor. If you have forgotten the identity of yours, just send us a support ticket. We will have your Puzzle Editor send you the PM link via which you can submit WordPuzzles.

Maybe the regular members could volunteer to fact check other peoples quizzes too?
They'd be barred from taking them of course, but I'm volunteering right now to check pop music quizzes (Since I never take them)

We have a rule that you can not submit a wordpuzzle until your previous submission has cleared. I think this rule is worth reviewing.

Allena - I agree with the idea of multiple submission. The editors are able to publish several in a row.

However, I have to disagree with the time thing when it comes to writing and editing WPs. My editor, Sploofizz, obviously takes tremendous time checking, editing, making suggestions and helping out to make our puzzles what I consider to be really well done.

However, we have several ready to go if anyone thinks it would help.

I would be happy to edit any and all health, medicine, physical science quizzes if that would help and don't care if I take them or not. Hubby would be happy to edit all classical music and baseball and geography if that would help.

Unless I am mistaken, editors don't fact check. In fact, I think I've read that they when they edit a quiz, they don't even know which of the alternate answers is the one the quiz author has selected as correct.

Mine is running in the morning but I'm not sure it will be well received.........short answers.........oh well. Maybe I can now write one with really long answers.

Marsha, don't belittle short answers (((((ducking))))

Actually, I like a good mixture of novels and short stories. Sadly, I won't get to take your WP - I won't get to take 4 out of 7 day WPs for the next 6 weeks....But I woulda looked forward to it.
