I know it will only last two minutes, but the bird is #1 for Excuses, Excuses. Must come from my 34 years teaching Middle School! Alice

I guess I'm too honest. Had a terrible time with this one!

I would have done better, but halfway through I had to floss my CPU.

And if that one was in the quiz, it's not my fault; it wasn't one I saw.

Ok, I'm not complaining b/c I ended up with a good score, but did anyone else have the one about the...well I can't say it yet, but what the @#$%?

I started my 5th puzzle having only used 17 moves and then used 12 more before I finally guessed. (I still didn't get it, but it was a syntactically correct sentence and my eyes were crossing so I just typed it in. =)

Definitely something that couldn't be looked up!! Fun puzzle.

So does anyone have any good real or created excuses they've actually heard used?

My favorite was the guy who tried to use the "I'm an hour late because I forgot about daylight savings time" excuse. A couple people try that every spring when the clocks go forward, but he tried it in the fall.

The most random (and I trusted this one)was "I can't come in because my house is full of bees". She said that when her landlord tried to get rid of some nests outside her building, the bees had escaped into her appartment through an open window, so that her apartment was filled with "hundreds of live and dead bees", that needed to be dealt with immediately.

In case you have forgotten your days of fun on the playground at school, I will refresh your memory. We played with alot of different kinds of balls. This is a family friendly site. I loved the excuses, excuses puzzle. I didn't do very well but I work with pre-K kids. Four year olds to be exact. I do recall one cute little girl whose mother dressed her in the prettiest little dress one rainy day and when she came in from the playground I noticed muddy spots on the front. When I asked her how she had gotten her pretty dress muddy she replied, "Oh, I didn't do it, the dirty water did."
