Be careful - the rules say you're supposed to be 18 to join sploofus. I upgraded someone to gold because I was saddened by some of their thoughts of the day posts and then it turns out they were 12. With some of the VERY inappropriate posts that have been coming through, I think Sploof should be mindful of enforcing the age requirement. That being said, the gold upgrade is on the left when you click on the Trivia Quiz link above.

I agree that perhaps a sploofus for kids would be perfect! When a bunch of us get bantering back and forth on Word Rounds, it can get really really funny and as adults, its perfectly fine. However, I would not want my 9 year old or any 9 year old joining in some of those conversations. Then there's the icky people that sneak through.

But that's one of the reasons I enjoy sploofus - I can chat and joke with my peers, not children. Even some of the definitions that come across on Word Rounds, I think, are too mature for young children. (Some examples include self-gratification, peforming certain acts from behind, etc.) When a bunch of us chat on Word Rounds, we bring up these hilarious definitions we get and have the best time laughing over them, but it simply isn't appropriate for a child.

Given the choice between a rated G site and an adult-only Sploofus with a separate childrens' site, I vote for the latter.

What say you, sploofers?

Lodi

P.S. Those Vegas commercials are false advertising! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, my eye! I brought home some nasty bug that didn't have the decency to stay in Vegas.

P.S.S. I'm high on Nyquil so if this post is illiterate, blame it on the drugs.

I agree with Lodi on this one.I say things on word round shouts that are not meant to be "dirty",by any means. But some people see it the wrong way and sometimes it's the other way around.I try and watch my language. But who's to say what another person finds offensive, you never know.I think if the rules say 18,then why are these children being allowed to join?Martha

In the Editor chat room we have been discussing various international slang words and how something very offensive in one country is completly innocuous in another...so you REALLY never know what will offend someone!

Lodi - the part that STAYS in Vegas is the part where you don't tell us what you were doing that GOT you that bug in the first place!

Now my imagination gets to fill-in the details
...skinny dipping at midnight?
...smooching with strangers?
...waking up outside without _____????

the posibilities are mind-boggling!

Haha! Nothing toooooo outrageous happened in Vegas. But since it looks like we are going to have 9 year olds reading our posts, I won't say more than that.
