Sorry to hear about your ordeal with your power out for days this week Marilyn. Must have been scary not to have Sploofus for that many days! We missed you! Hope you never have to leave your island home again! Welcome, Welcome, Welcome Back! K

Glad her physical presence is among us again, but her spirit never left.

That seems so cerebral- I hope I just made that up.
Hugs to Marilyn

Your power wasn't really off you were just trying to give some other folks at chance at all those Who's and Where's that you seem to figure out when the rest of us have no clue!
Glad to hear you're "plugged back in"

Thanks, Kelley, and all of you guys! That is really sweet to be missed by you all!

That really was a terrible ice storm. Many without power in our town, stores and schools closed. Stores running out of milk and some places running out of gas. It truly is a completely different world in isolation. No telephone, No TV, no computer, no Sploofus, no lights. Only flashlights and candlelights. We had a couple of gas wall heaters which kept us reasonably warm. Our central heat is gas but run by electricity so that was out. The weather is saying there may be another one come through Monday or Tuesday of next week. Hope it's more snow than ice if anything at all. I definitely missed the "Island" and all of you! Funny how fast time flies when you're busy with Sploofus, and how it just drags by without it.

Thanks again,

That's not the kind of "camping" I'd like either. Glad you're back!!

Welcome back to the warmth of the island. So glad the winter ordeal is over at least for now. Next time I hope it is just snow so you can make snowpeople and angels and then come into the house for hot chocolate and electricity!! Blessings to you, Anne

Yes Marilyn....
I was only ever once without electricity for one whole December day
Fortunately we were only on the 4th floor of our apartment building,
so was able to take the kids to a restaurant for light and sound and
a HOT Meal....
We don't notice it until it's gone - and then we realize it's in every part
of our lives....

Don't know what you did wrong....but I'm sending you a "Get Out of Jail
Free" card....ASAP
To which prison should I send the card, flashlight and cake with a file in it????

Know exactly how you feel our power went off at 2:30 p.m. wednesday morning and we finally got it back today at around 2:00 p.m. We stayed in our apartment all day wed. and wed. night but by Thursday morning I told my husband we had to get Robin out and to someplace warm. Our local hospital had set up a Red Cross shelter so we took her there because of all her medical problems, and they put us in a room of our own so she didn't have to be taken care of in the main shelter. Now that we are home we are going to be sending a check to our local red cross chapter for all of their help. God bless all of the volunteers they were great. charlotte
