SORRY, CHICK, CAN'T HELP MYSELF

All of the majors have submitted "wish" lists to be included in the stimulus package-many of them quite good shovel-ready type things. However, Chicago's Mayor Daley is keeping his list secret. His reasoning seems to be if he makes it public it will be open to "RIDICULE - imagine that LOL Linda

Linda, I wish I had your time to read everything, but I don't.

I don't actually live in Chicago, bout 15 miles out. That being said, while I don't agree with a lot of crap Ritchie does, I do have to admit, when the boy puts his mind to it, he's VERY effective. There's a reason why they call it a "Machine" in Chicago, IMH(humble)O, it's because it works. None of his predecessors were even remotely effective (cept for his daddy). Whatever his MO is, he really does try to help the city and honestly, from a suburbanites view, it's been successful. He's managed to do a lot of good for the city and it's people.

Honey, while I really disagree with you on a ton of issues, I like to look at the glass 1/2 full the vast majority of the time. It's easy to sit back and complain, but if I really felt that strongly about something, I would ensconce myself in all efforts to find a way to rectify the situation, not just lament about how things are going badly.

HRH...Me.

LOL, Sandy. You are correct, of course, Chick. Daley has done more for Chicago than any mayor has ever done for Detroit. That is most likely the reason Chicago remains vibrant and Detroit has become a shell of its former self. You are also correct that I spend way to much time reading and listening to politics. I DO have solutions but nobody seems to have confidence in my GREAT ideas especially the folks who are supposed to be representing me - Linda

Linda, just a suggestion, but if you feel that strongly about how things are done, start small.

In my tiny circle of life, I got really pissed off with the way that the men handled the girls softball team selection, so instead of just sitting there whining, I signed up to be a coach. I am hoping that someday the dumbass men will realize that for 7 year old girls, they don't give a shit if they win or lose, they want to play with their friends and have a good time doing it. I know VERY little about softball (a ton about baseball, but apparently they are two different sports). So here I sit, clip board in hand, trying to make a difference in something that means sumpin to me and mine.

What I'm suggesting is that instead of venting here, and constantly getting aggravated, you do something with your time and your passion. You don't need to run for office (unless you want to), but search out your local elections and spend your time working for something that makes you feel 1/2 full, instead of 1/2 empty. Sometimes the only way to beat them, is to play their stupidass game.

C'mon ,you know you would miss me if I wasn't right here to catch you on everything and as Sandy says pointing out what is wrong feels so good. So you go ahead and cuss and I'll go ahead and complain and piss everyone off on as "fair and balanced" way as I can- LOL Linda You haven't gone and gotten all philosophical about things, have you?

BTW, Chick, you really do need to talk to Barry on your half full theory. He has a tendency to" nit pick" everything regardless of how many times I point it out to him-just another case of someone not valuing my p[ions, I guess LOL Linda
