SYL'S LESSONS FROM HORROR FILMS

Hi everybody, I just wanted to say that I'll be making my word puzzle authoring debut tonight, and I welcome your suggestions but go easy on me! : ) Its my first time and I only play a handful of the things a year, so I really didn't know what I was doing, lol, I just did my best. Wanted to thank Sploofunky for his/her help on some of the details, other than that thanks and have fun.

I thought you "hated" word puzzles. I will be looking forward to it but then you have to take mine in the morning! Deal?

Hated Valentine Gifts? Sure, sounds fun, I can do that I think, I have a conference in the morning and I'm not sure what time it starts, but I can promise you that I will do my very best to play yours Marsha! What time do the A.M. puzzles begin anyways?

I am amazed that was your first word puzzle. I honestly thought that you did a fabulous job. It couldn't be googled, you had great clues. It pains me to say this Jerm.....but you did a great job!

Awww, shucks Marsha. Thanks for the kind words.

For the rest of you I really don't mind criticism, and it looks like some of you are preparing, lol! I hope I didn't give that impression, I'm sure it would make me a better author of these things. Thanks.

I am not surprised! Horror with a sense of humor. That's you.
Really enjoyed it.
Happy, too, because I did better than usual.Whether because I was amused, or you could make it a bit harder?
Not for my sake, no, I was thrilled with less brain wracking.
So nothing mean coming from me! All praise.
Good for you, to try your hated realm. To leap into public. To surrender self to potential witty ridicule and scoff.

Since I absolutely hate horror movies and never watch them (though I DO sometimes watch the spoof movies about horror movies) I was prepared to be the voice of reason here.

But it turns out that they're ALL voices of reason, and Jerm, ya did great!

(And it also turns out the spoof movies played on all the ones I had here, too, so I don't have any more excuse to do badly than usual.)

The lesson I learned was that horror CAN be funny!

Loved the quirks Jeremy! I want more please.

Great fun. I managed to find three intriguing wrong answers to blow any points I might have got but I'm inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was not deliberate on your part......

Great start SYL; more please!

Nice job, Jeremy You wrote about all the reasons I rarely watch horror movies, I always end up thinking these people are so stupid they almost deserve to die

Wow, guess my first puzzle turned out alright! Thanks for playing and making my authoring debut a positive one!

Just out of curiosity, does anybody ever post the answers after the puzzle is over? I thought about doing that for fun, but wasn't sure if people did that or not....also, what do people mean when they say it's not googleable? I guess people like that, and it wasn't something I tried to do....I didn't even know that that was a good thing. Does it mean you can't google the info or you can't google the phrases, or both? There were search terms where my first puzzle could've been googled, not the exact phrases I used, but it would take a unique person who was probably into script writing and horror movies like me to figure it out....just curious.

Thanks for leaving feedback on this one.

Some have posted all ten phrases and clues after the time has elapsed. I would like to see the complete puzzle to see the other 5 phrases.

And you have googleable figured out. Some figure googling is cheating. I don't, because even if I Google it doesn't put me in the top 30 so I'm no threat to anyone's scores. I don't often Google. Most often it's when I have the answer right on the tip of my tongue and I can't get my brain to spit it out so I Google just to put my mind at rest. Or I know the answer and I'm not sure of the spelling. i hope to get a bunch more years out of this brain and I don't want to wear it out too soon on one puzzle!

The editors sometimes do previous word puzzles as a "pop" quiz. If you post all of your answers then I would imagine that yours could not be used again.

Nice job Jeremy. Welcome to the mix of word puzzle authors.

P.S.-- I usually post all ten clues/phrases after my puzzle[s] are ended.
