I'm sorry to weigh in late Old Cougar. I did the puzzle late and was brain dead after!

It was quite a challenge! Again though, learned new things.

Thanks for the work you do on puzzles! They are always interesting.

I really liked the puzzle and learned a lot but I think I had a typo that made the first puzzle take me 25 moves with typos and multiple letters. Was a particular song banned when the war started? Because my puzzle said that a song was panned and I couldn't come up with that word at all if it was correct. Since that was my first puzzle I started a little disappointed but then really liked it once I got going.

Sorry Sherry "panned" was correct, as in it fell out of favour, not enough letters left to use a clearer word. In fact, though at first a big hit "I didn't raise my son to be a soldier" actually ruined the singer's career after the USA joined the war.

Thanks for the kind compliments, hope the WW II songs are easier

I wasn't around for WWI so I learned a lot from doing this puzzle. None of those songs seem to be played on the radio anymore.

Actually, I wasn't a baby boomer yet for even WWII, so I better study up for the next OC delight.

Nice job! Enjoyable to solve.

Time to hum//// Over there-- over there........................
