MUSIC FROM THE '50S AND '60S

http://carolynspreciousmemories.com/50s/sitemap.html

This is on a site called Heaven's Gate. You'll love it if you like music especially from the 50s. Best of all, it gives you the lyrics so you can sing along ....

Lollipop, lollipop,
Oh lolli, lolli
Lollipop, lollipop ...

Oops, sorry. Didn't mean to hurt your ears!

Just go find your favorite song from that era and sing to your pets.

My pets yowl like they're being tortured if I sing to them, but they LOVE to be read to.

Neat site - thanks, Pat!

The McGuire Sisters and the Andrew Sisters - ah what sweet music.

I hope you all checked out some of the other pages. I'm going looking for the 1940's page.

oh wow, that is so weird, i just went into "what was the no.1 hit, when you were born", and my song was the old lamplighter, i honestly have never heard of this song, its one thats slipped thru, any way, i came on here, went into the recommended site, and there was the song, the lamplighter song, in the 50's section. the song came up twice in half an hour, a song i'd never heard of an hour ago. amazing

The Old Lamplighter was a favorite of mine 'back in the day.' Such a lovely melody, soothing and peaceful ... as one should be when dark arrives and the lights come on. Well, that's the way it was 'back in the day'!

I've had strange things like that - something you've never heard of show up several times in a short time - happen too. Sort of eerie isn't it?

Excellent site. Have bookmarked it. However "Can I have This Dance" by Anne Murray came out in 1980, so it seems out of place.

Donden, you are correct, the site you listed is also a wonderful place to find music from all decades. Don't know about the rest of you, but listening to some of today's music makes me long even more for the music of 30 or more years ago.
