I liked this puzzle. It is a topic of interest for me, and I learned some new facts...then spent and hour reading about it. Great way to spend a Saturday morning!

It snowed 4-5 inches here this morning...shovel, shovel shovel. So I feel under the weather. Fun puzzler.

I enjoyed your WP, Suzanne, thanks! Lots of interesting weather info! It's been very cold and blustery here. Fun puzzle!

Thanks for the nice notes. I admit that I tend to become a bit obsessive about the weather because I work outside year round. And in Illinois, we have an accurate phrase - "If you don't like the weather, just wait 15 more minutes and it will change".

A whirlwind of activity Phrase 1 – Approximately nine hundred tornadoes occur in the US every year.
An unlucky strike Phrase 2 – A lightning bolt is only one to three inches wide.
In over your head Phrase 3 – Floods kill more people than hurricanes, lightning and tornadoes combined.
Up to par Phrase 4 – A golf ball sized hail travels at fifty mph.
High and dry! Phrase 5 – The Atacama Desert in Chile has no known rainfall on record.
Ladies first! Phrase 6 – The practice of naming hurricanes began in WWII.
Snow day Phrase 7 - The shape of a snowflake is determined by the current temperature.
Wet Hawaii Phrase 8 – It rains in Mount Waialeale three hundred and fifty days a year.
Roy G. Biv Phrase 9 – The colors of a rainbow are red orange yellow green blue indigo and violet.
Angels bowling Phrase 10 – Aristotle believed that thunder occurred when clouds collided.

Hey Suz!
I missed your WP, which is why I thought that you were sick when I saw the title to this thread!

I'm glad that you are healthy and well, and that your WP went over so well! LOL
