I'm currently sitting on 22 showdown tokens --that's nothing I know but there was a time I used up one a week.

While I've been away I've got bored trying to climb the ladder --the guy in front of me had a 2 billion lead on me and I had a 3 billion lead on the person behind me. So I challenged him regularly and my resuls have been mixed -- coincidentally the person behind me started to challenge ME.
It would never occur to me to ask my pursuer to stop -- but i just got an email with the pursuee asking me to wait till the timer has been fixed.
Rather than fire off a reply suggesting that I could do what I liked, I thought I'd ask everyone's opinion. I won my last showdown with a 7.5 second right asnwer; is it unreasonable to say that if my opponent can't beat that it's not my problem?
Is there ANY scenario when i should not challenge --after all the risk is all mine?

By the way keebydog if you are reading this please keep challenging me!

My experience the last couple of weeks is that the
timer hasn't been an issue in Showdowns. The only
time I noticed the drag was when taking quizzes.
Sharper should make do.

As far as other Showdown etiquette....

At the moment I am disobeying one of my own
rules by persistently challenging the same person.
Usually I would use a Wager token to change
position, but I don't have one to burn.

The timer was acting up like crazy last week - TQODs, Kerblunks, and quizzes. I have not noticed that problem at all the past 4 days, so while we have no "official" word that it's been fixed, my guess is that it functioning OK now and that you may proceed to Showdown with impunity.

There is something amiss. In the challenge you mentioned where you won by answering in 7.5 seconds I answered correctly in 3 seconds (in real time; I've taken to using a stopwatch to measure the time between question display and submission) but the system obviously cannot measure the time between display and response at the user's end. This strikes me as odd, because the old "Jeopardy" site used to be able to do that six or seven years ago. I may have nothing to lose, but it's frustrating to operate under such a handicap.

Good point sharper. I've pmed you separately to say that my times dont match what I write either. But when its 'challenger risk' my view is that its caveat emptor, and I'm the buyer.
