Ok so I had some fun yesterday choosing songs that I liked from each decade 50s through to now. I am gonna narrow it down a little and open it up to you, the public. Choose a decade and choose two songs that you like. I know it is hard and that we can change depending on the moment, imagine the moment is now and make a choice, or don't, is only for entertainment.

I am gonna start with the 1960s and say

Cygnet Committee by David Bowie and
Something In The Air by Thunderclap Newman

Just two? I can't do it. Here are three though - I can live with that -

"Blowin' in the Wind" by Bob Dylan
"Everyday People" by Sly and the Family Stone
"Paint it Black" by The Rolling Stones

Right now...late 60s:

Born to be Wild & Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf (to me, they have to both be played)

(Just a Little Bit Harder) - Janis Joplin

1958 - "Tequila" - The Champs and "Rumble" - Link Ray.
(The last one always makes the hair on my neck stand up.)

Mm'kay - 60's it is:

1968 then - "Communication Breakdown" - Led Zep (Around two and a half minutes of rock pop perfection)
and "Lazy Sunday" - The Small Faces (although if pressed I might need the whole of side one of 'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake )

From the 50's I'd have to go with "The Great Pretender" by The Platters and "Poor Little Fool" by Ricky Nelson.
From the 60's it would be "California Dreamin' by The Mamas and The Papas and "Mercedes Benz" by Janis Joplin.
From the 70's I have to go with "You've Got A Friend" by James Taylor and "Time In A Bottle" by Jim Croce.
This is just a handful as I have millions of favorites...

50s "So What" Miles Davis, and "Mack the Knife" Louis Armstrong version.
60s "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" Dylan, and "Itchycoo Park" Small Faces.

Child In Time, Deep Purple and Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Floyd. If i did this tomorrow there would probably be two different tracks there. I'm not totally trapped in the past though. I can't stop playing "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga at the moment.
