Thanks --and you gave me a different set too for the most part.
I like this idea for a puzzle -- but must be tough to set in advance (though I suppose you could always go with 'Republicans criticize Obama policies' and be sure it will be relevant)

Only joking Linda

You are correct, can't really do this one in advance. I left it basically blank except for the regions I wanted to hit until last night. Nothing like hard deadlines to kick your motivation into high gear!

Mostly I put it in to break up the "10 things" puzzles, which I think are going very nicely, but I'm trying to make sure there aren't more than three in a row.

I liked the puzzle Barry but must not have gotten those critical of Obama. Of course, if he was being talked about, would be difficult to find a good thing to say- of course just kidding too. Linda

Nice puzzle. Right up my alley. Guess we could have these often.

Looks like you did OK after all, Barry NICE WORK!

I guessed the wrong tense for a certain verb. Maybe I need to take confirming letters for prepositions and verbs now.

There was one I remember (Musharraf) where it was not clear whether to use a present or past tense; I typed in the S because it was my last phrase and I was going well and discovered that was a good insurance (then I typed our for OUT!)

Kudos for a topical and newsworthy puzzle.
I try to keep up on current event so I did prettty well.

Speaking of breaking up the "10 Things" concept- be forewarned that Tiny Tim and his career is featured tomorrow morning.
I'll be in Washington DC looking for an honest politician while the puzzle is live.

Don't know when I'l get back

That was the verb that I tripped over, Barry. Think I tried "refuses" first. (After all, editor, isn't breaking news supposed to be in the present? )

FYI I now prepare all phrases in WordPerfect where I spell check them and then carefully paste them in.

And I keep the answer line out of view until then.
