For my Area:

Conrad Dobler, NFL Offensive Lineman; Steve Reevis, actor; Will Sampson, actor; Nancy Wilson, jazz and blues singer; Russell Hayden, western movie star of the 30's 40's and 50's.
Plus, a lot of actors and musicians come out here to get away from it all.
Lot of movies, and parts of movies, have been filmed out here.

Tons of famous people lived in Great Neck, NY, due to its proximity to NYC - Groucho Marx, George M. Cohan, Oscar Hammerstein II, Charlie Chaplin, Madeline Albright, Morton Gould, WC Fields, and dozens more.

Lately - Sarah & Emily Hughes, Olympic Figure Skating Champs

And, most importantly, according to Miracle on 34th St - Santa Claus!

Russell Schweickart, Apollo Astronaut was born in Neptune, NJ, the town next to mine. There's a monument at town hall dedicated to the Apollo mission that he was on.

My town has the dubious honor of graduating the girl/hooker who brought down Governor Spitzer. She graduated the year ahead of my youngest son. He didn't know her and she didn't use the name Ashley Dupre when she was in high school. Sad story, wealthy family... money doesn't buy you happiness that's for sure.

Jack Nicholson grew up in Neptune, NJ. I met him once when he was shoppng for a TV in a local department store. He was very low key and approachable.

Danny Devito also grew up in that same town.

Clarence Clemons (Bruce Springsteen sax player) is from the Monmouth County, NJ area. He used to work at the Jamesburg School for boys. Before I was married, I went out with a friend of his. He made dinner because it was my 25th birthday...(chicken) and we all watched the Eiger Sanction on TV. That was 33 years ago. I hope he would remember me but I don't think I would press it if I saw him!

It was when I was born there. I didn't know you had a time frame on small town. Anyway that is where I was born but not where I live now.

Yeah Felix, Dobler was a beast. His family owns a food distribution company out here. I see him in town from time to time. He's nice as can be. Glad I didn't have to meet up with him on the field though. lol

Glenn Miller lived in North Platte for several years during his early childhood. He attended a school a few blocks from my house. His teacher wrote on his report card that he showed no musical ability or something to that effect.

William Wordsworth wrote 'Daffodils' after visiting where I live. Although to be fair he did come here first. I have visited the lake he sat and pondered next to and I admire the man. All I could come up with was 'I trampled confused like a tulip'

Dougal Haston - a chequered life, but a true explorer.

And althought he didn't live there, Robert the Bruce did give most of it away as a wedding present in the early 14th century.

Boring as **** place even then.

The only person I can think of from my hometown of Dayton Tennessee (not counting the folks involved with the Scopes Trial back in 1925) is country singer Jerry Wallace.
He graduated with my cousin's wife from high school...not sure if he was born here though but he did go to high school here at least that's the story I've heard. David Roller who played Pro Football for the Packers. I almost forgot about him....

Rick Husband, Cyd Charisse. My folks always told me Joe Pepitone was born there, but in double checking, I discovered that's wrong. I'm so disappointed. 55 years of wrong info.

Vickie; thanks for the Dave Roller update.
True Packer fans remember the man and his career fondly.
Perhaps a comeback may be in order? Our defensive line has apparent upcoming issues.
