Having come from England, and lived on the west coast of Canada....
I'm here to tall you - 8 months of rain a year is damned depressing.

I don't think it would be to me. While living in N Cal in the 80s, it rained all the time. Made me feel cozy!

When I worked it always seemed to be raining on my parade but now I find it relaxing. Often take walks in the pouring rain followed by a hot bath & drink. I've developed a theory that rain is good for your skin. Until I developed my MRSA problem I looked 10 years younger than I was (according to others), we've yet to see if I can get that back. Most days there is a break in the weather even on the soggy West Coast but it does get depressing when the monsoons occasionally set in

I live in the SE of England, just outside London, and i can tell you water shortages are more common than floods !!!
