LOST 3-25 OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH

I can't believe what I just saw! I did NOT see that coming. And of course that's because of Daniel had said. I didn't know it was possible. I so hope somebody comes in here and discusses this episode. Tell us (me?) what you thought of what happened tonight.

Okay, so I'm wondering if this makes adult Ben go away...and how does it change everything...
If the young Ben is killed, then it means the Dharma people were not murdered enmasse.
Also, did you noticed that one of the Dharma people said, "we need to call Ann Arbor," in
reference to the University of Michigan, where two researchers started the Dharma initiative.
I remember reading that on a blog during season 1.

This is the thing that gets me. The threads of this show weave back to the first, second, third, season.
You have to have the memory of an elephant to remember all that and tie it together.

Okay, back to your original point. I'm not exactly sure what happens if Ben never happened in
adulthood. It would undo LOTs of stuff. Mind blowing.

I don't think it is what it looked like. He can't be dead because you can't change what's already happened. This is what's going to turn him from a sad little abused boy to the twisted whack job he is today. He thought he could trust Sayid and instead he got shot, and he already knows he can't trust his own father. Why trust anyone?

What's really weird is to realize that all those times Ben was working with Sayid, he knew Sayid had/would (depending on whose time line you're considering) shot/shoot him! And something else I realized tonight that I hadn't thought of before. Remember season 1 when Ben had a list of people he wanted Michael to bring to him? Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sawyer - all in little Ben's memory. He had Juliet under his thumb at the time, too. Sort of retroactive revenge. The question is why didn't he ask for Jin? Maybe Jin's work detail didn't let him cross paths with little Ben? Oh, and here's a thought. At the beginning of this part of the season, we saw the Doctor who makes the videos with a baby. What if that baby is Sun and that's why she didn't land in the past with the others, because she was already there as a child and the two would have crossed paths?? Not a belief of mine, just a wild theory.

Oh, and think about this one. In an attempt to keep Sawyer away from Juliet, Ben forces Sawyer and Kate together, but in the long run, that's what causes Sawyer and Juliet to end up together!!!!

Awesome writing!!!!

Good stuff, guys.

I was wracking my brain to figure out how Sun might have been there in the past. What great reasoning! I had already thought that would make sense that Ben wouldn't go back so they couldn't cross paths, but Sun was the enigma.

You may be totally right.

I agree - sheesh, i can't remember what I did yesterday hardly, so to remember all those little details over the course of 5 years is just way beyond my little brain. In fact, people tell me things they notice in some episodes, and I go back and watch again and STILL don't see it.

This is why I so wanted somebody to come talk. Thank you!

Well, we know some people have come back to life on the island, so maybe little Ben is going to resurrect somehow.

That could be. But I also remember when he had his back problem, John said ( I think it was John) that Ben was mad that the island healed John but not him.
