Once again I am participating in our local National MS walk. This year my children will be joining our team and we are asking for donations to help support the National MS society. My best friend was diagnosed with MS almost 3 years ago and my mothers best friend was diagnosed about a year ago. We know times are tough in the economy and money is tight for everyone. However if you feel the urge to donate, no amount is too small because even a $1 will add up and make a difference, please go to our team page and donate to any member. We plan on having a bake sale and spend a day bagging groceries for donations to raise money for the kids (Savannah and David) to add to their total donations collected. Our walk date is April 19th. Here is the link to our team page. Thank you in advance to any who choose to donate.

Tomorrow is the local MS Walk and as of today the kids have raised $160, just $40 short of their $100 each goal. I am so proud of them. They have done awesome and really hustled to try and raise money. No matter if it was just a bit of pocket change someone had to give to them they would be sure to give the person a heartfelt thanks and tell then that every penny counted and they appreciated the donations. At the bake sale they talked several people into just donating when they said they didn't really want any cookies or brownies. It just puts a big smile on my face because my kids aren't the type that will just talk to anyone. They are rather quiet around people they don't know but after a little while I was able to get them to break out of their shells and the next thing I know they were taking off like little pros asking everyone they could for donations. LOL Anyway....if anyone would still like to donate to the MS society please feel free to go to the link in the above post and make a donation. No amount is too small and as the kids say....every penny helps. Even if they don't hit the $100 mark each I am still so proud of each of them for all the hard work they put into this years walk.

Well I posted on my myspace page about the kids bake sale and how much money they had earned. My best friend Alica (the one with MS and that we are walking for) read the message and went and donated $20 to each of the kids so they could hit their $100 mark. She said she was very proud of them for all their work and wanted to see them hit their goal. be honest they probably would have hit their goal anyway because I was running numbers and trying to figure out where we could scrimp on money to go ahead and put the extra $40 in for them. If Rob hadn't lost his job due to lay offs a little over a week ago I wouldn't have thought twice about chucking an extra $40 in for them but we gotta really watch our spending until he can find another job or they open the mine back up. So they will both had reached their goal of $100 when we turn in our money tomorrow. YAY!!

Congrats! What a great thing! My mother has MS, it is a horrible disease. You should be proud of the kids and yourself for raising them!
