BEA ARTHUR

It came on the news just now....
Bea Arthur died today at age 86. I loved her sitcoms...
She was the perfect foil for Archie Bunker in All in the Family....
And Golden Girls has become a deserved classic.
We loved you Bea and we'll miss you....

Think I watched every episode of the "Golden Girls" available and reruns. Bea as Dorothy was great and some of her looks were so funny, and she will be missed.

Marilyn...

This is trivial, but I loved the clothes she wore in Golden Girls. I wish I had her wardrobe.

I really enjoyed her also. I call dibs on a Bea Arthur quiz, which I started earlier today when I read about her death in the newspaper.

I still watch the reruns of Golden Girls every day. She was truly a great actress and the world has lost another talented performer, but her star will continue to shine..

I too was saddened to hear of "Maude's" passing. The sitcom was a family favorite..her character was most interesting, her wit unsurpassable...she was really something else, wasn't she? For sure, Bea Arthur led a full life, but it is interesting how some people (okay, maybe it's just me) react with surprise upon hearing of someones passing. When a fellow Sploofus mentioned her death to me last night, I gasped...oh,...Maude! The visual that flashed through my mind was of her just as she looked on the show some 30+ years ago...she was a real gem!

One of my favorite shows was Maude deciding she was going to run for the presidency of the United States...until her husband Walter suggested she had a "mood disorder"...her reaction was priceless. I was unable to locate part one of "Maude's Mood Disorder" which was about the money she spent on starting her campaign, etc. I was however, able to locate the tape of the second episode when Walter confronts her with concerns she is manic depressive. Goodbye Maude...

I found her to be a surprisingly gentle and considerate lover.

Loved her character of Maude. That was one of the few shows that I made sure I never missed.

She must have been working up till the end, because I got an email offer of discount tickets just last week - for Avenue Q with Bea Arthur. I had actually saved the link, thinking that I should go see her in it.

Summer....

Is anything that comes from either Smaug or Felix EVER necessary????

Bet Bea Arthur gave more people, more pleasure, than they ever will....
