Well, after sitting at the #1 spot in my Netflix queue for a month, I finally received the movie Fireproof. I just finished weeping through it. I'm glad I didn't watch it in a theater!

If you are someone who is married and wishes you had a stronger marriage, I highly suggest this movie.

If you are someone who isn't married but hope to be some day, I highly suggest this movie, also. It might come in handy down the road!

I give it

Marriage. What a joke.

That word actually used to mean something.... until MTV came around.

It's not a joke to everyone. Why deride something that means more than MTV to some people? What is MTV anyway?

I'm so sorry, Justin.

I live there, too, and I'm sad that the rest of my life will be lived alone, with dogs and cats to keep me company. I know that pain and loneliness.

But I do know people who are truly happily married, and if there exists writings or movies or something that helps people NOT go through this pain and loneliness, I'm all for it. It's too late for me. Maybe it's not too late for someone else.

And I've never watched MTV in my life. Does CMT count?

I watched this movie with my husband...and I thought it had a very strong and powerful message...God is there all you have to do is look up!...and Justin, I know how you feel...I went through a divorce myself and it isn't any fun! Marriage takes two working everyday together...

MTV has the lead on plenty of beginnings and endings.

How about Monkee Mike Nesmith and his very first MTV Vid ever?

I'm with Justin on this one yo. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I give marriage two thumbs down. Maybe a three year contract with the option to renew would work better in today's world???? Thanks for the review Janice, perhaps I'll check it out.

I am so sorry for you all that have been through divorce, not only is it hard on you but also your children. But i would like to say that marriage can be just as good as divorce is bad. My husband and i will have been married for 48 years in July and we met on a blind date, and no i don't have any sage advice for anyone except you just work hard and try to make it work. charlotte

I resisted watching Fireproof until my friend (suffering from flu and needing to be watched over) begged me to rent it and bring it over. Both of us are divorced, my divorce was necessary legally, hers was a shock to her. I went into it with very low expectations, or negative expectations. The end result? I'm begging my son and his fiance to watch it BEFORE they marry simply b/c it covers a lot of territory that I wish someone had covered with me before I got married.

The solutions to marriage problems seem to be very simple....

Make sure your parents have a good loving and pragmatic
relationship, before you are born. Example is everything.

Bring up your children to always take your advice, so you can
wisely advise them on who to marry, and how to meet each
other's needs in full. Stable is good, changing one's mind is bad.
