PETE SEEGER WP

Great job! Seeger has always been one of my heroes. Smiled all through the Puzzle.

Studying up for this excellent puzzle made me appreciate Pete as a great American as well as a great pioneer of folk music which I absolutely adore.

Doesn't it seem Unamerican to be having puzzles about Pete Seeger? If Senator Macarthy did not like him we should not too.
I think it strengthens our enemies; America is a weaker place for this WP.

Ain't the politics. It's the music. People forget about the politics. Music goes on forever. Dumb to try to suppress music. Didn't work with R&R, didn't work with Seeger's. It's UnAmerican to stifle the arts. It makes us look weak to the rest of the world

My dear lord......are we now stooping to a new low on including "politics" in our comments on word puzzles? I guess we just have to go with some people being extremely narrow minded. I totally enjoyed the puzzle (other than the 2 dumb typos that I made). People "see" what they want to "see". I'm done.

Good puzzle, i screwed it up. As for the rest of it, as a Brit, i must confess to being mildly amused.

Great puzzle. I really enjoyed learning more about this folk rock legend. As for Barry's comment, I guess I'll scrap my idea for a 10 Things About the Rosenbergs WP

Thanks for the pete seeger wp; just did it; enjoyable and informative. I thought it would be better to criticize it without having taken it -- otherwise the terrorists win.

Well, I'd probably enjoy both 10 Things about the Rosenbergs and 10 Things about Joseph McCarthy (as long as Ann's stupid book wasn't used as a reference)

Madamc8...
"it ain't the politics, it's the music"

Remember when all things Beatles'
were smashed, burned, and trashed?
and it "turned into all this...."

You're right tho, the music lived on....

Thanks so much for the Seeger WP. As an old folkie (no...I didn't misspell foggie!!!), I really appreciated the nostalgia.

I enjoyed reading up about Mr. Seeger's controversial career while solving the clues and after completing it.
The puzzle author did a great job developing the clues and phrases.

Timely?- It has been launched on a momentous day in his lifetime of accomplishments. Happy Birthday Pete!

Next one is 10 things about Smaug....then we collectively won't worry about less controversial folks like Hitler or Satan.

Thanks for playing...and happy birthday Pete.

My mom took me to see him. I took my kids. Cool

Marsha -- mine (and I'm pretty sure Barry's) was a tongue-in-cheek comment. There were those who objected to the folk and rolk music -- that's fair to mention. Doesn't take a thing away from Seeger, in fact, he proudly said his birthday was an opportunity to promote environmental causes. The point is ... the music still stands on its own, as music.

Just to put the record straight. I love Pete Seeger. I love his politics; I love the fact that he is still alive and kicking at 90. I love everyone (except *****)
