YOUR EDITOR NAME?

Barry's post about Sploofiery got me thinking. I remember years ago that a bunch of us used to sit and decide what our editor names would be, if we were ever asked. (Which we weren't, huh, wonder why?) We used to come up with some zingers.

I like Sploofoff

What would your editor name be?

He's very romantic.

Would one's name have to contain "Sploof" anything? I would not want to be an editor, but if I were I'd want to fit in. So I guess that I would be Drunkasssailor or there about. Has this thread been hijacked, yet?

Wow -- you guys are really, really nasty to the editors. I haven't written that many entries, but I found my editor incredibly helpful, courteous ad respectful. I imagine that Sploofus has a small staff and hundreds, if not thousands, of things an editor must edit. I used to be a senior journalist at a daily newspaper, and know first had that editing was a thankless, but vital task. You all have certainly underscored THANKLESS. I thought this forum was devoted to creativity not negativity. I'm sure that some of your posts in this thread have actually been hurtful to a group of PEOPLE who work as hard as they can to make this site the best it can be. No doubt, I will now be flamed for being a brown nosing person. I'm not, but then it's pretty clear from this thread that the only thing important here is not credibility, but being as cruel as possible, then piling on in a mob mentality of non-constructive insults. As an adult, I'm embarrassed by this thread and had thought better of you all.

Emily - I thought this thread was about what we ourselves would want OUR name if we were an editor. I didn't perceive it as negative names against existing editors. Mine wasn't. I just was trying to think of names that were at least a little humorous?

I'm stuck at home because my job is closed for a week because of swine flu. Now come on - that name was a LITTLE funny, wasn't it?

I know - I won't quit my day job. Though for these 12 days, my day job has quit me.

And I changed my mind. I'm editing myself. I like sploofarts better than sploofarter. It's not as offensive if you say it fast and pronounce it more like sploofurts.

Pepperdoc can have "Splofusgoofus" if he chooses. It did not win the Rita's Water Ice naming contest.

However, I'm thinking about

SploofGoose [in honor of Howard Hughes]

or

Sploofgoofball [in honor of Skip]

I don't wish to hijack this thread, but want to thank the kind folks who have wished us well before and after our wedding.

Many know it has been a long and hard road for quite a few years.
Commuting between Alaska and Australia to be together so many times has been quite challenging for both of us!

I just posted a couple of pix into my photo gallery if anyone cares to peek.........?

Cheers, Bev
