WILDLIFE ENTHUSIASTS

For those of you who love wildlife, my sister sent me this link. Its a life web cam of an eagle sitting on her nest. She has eggs that are due to hatch at the end of April. Enjoy!

Once you get past the advertisement, this is pretty cool. I am certain it is going to be very cool once the eggs hatch and we have eaglets to watch, and parents feeding them. I was expecting a hurky jerky webcam thing, but this is like live TV...certain better than that Idle American everyone talks about.

I ran across the "Eaglecam" a while back and it wasn't working very well. Kind of like the old update once every 10 yrs. webcams. I'll have to look again now that it's working.

Been waiting for the eagle to move so I can see the eggs. Truely amazing site. I had no idea an eagle could turn their head 180 degrees plus like an owl. Just awesome, thanks so much for sharing. My 5 year old daughter loves watching it.

I just happened to go on a few minutes ago, and saw the other eagle come back to the nest. It's so neat to watch them switch off. I also fnally saw the two eggs, I wasn't sure how many were under there...lol

Turns out there's now only one egg in the nest. Not sure what happened to the other.

This isn't about the eage but have any of you seen the duck who made a nest at the NY Ritz? She had her ducklings and people are clamoring for peeks. The Ritz is being very protective of her. And how cool are these websites where you can watch wildlife from your living room? Love it!

Both eagles were there a li'l while ago. It is windy, and their feathers are ruffling in the breeze.
When one (Daddy?) flew off, t'other stood up and I saw only ONE egg.

Confirming post above...what happened to t'other'un we wonder??

When I went to it, it gave me a site on how to buy a DVD on the eagles. Is that what you got?

No, it would come up with database not found or something. I didn't try too many times. End of spring semester and I'm slammed. I'm still sneaking in a few minutes of sploofus a day though.

Yeah I got to looking aroud on the site.....it is the same nest. It's the Hornby Island nest and it appears the eggs are infertile and won't be hatching. For more info read the notice posted on the page I listed above.

That's weird, I mean, one of the eggs had little poke holes in it like the eaglet(?) was coming out. So wouldn't that mean the egg was fertile?

Violetblue, help us out here.

well I went to yet another forum for the site and there is alot of speculation about the nest and the eggs going on. Who knows what is really happening with it. I was really hoping to see the eggs hatch.

Here isa link to the other forum for anyone who is interested.

Apparently neither egg was viable in the 1st nest so they now have a camera set up in a different area. If you look further on their web page, it shows how they set up the camera. Its pretty amazing.
