I responded to a thread sometime ago which was similar in content to this post. As my questions
have yet to be addressed I decided to re-post them to a new thread.

Editor's Awards -

Presently there are variables in the current judging system which I feel need to be addressed.
I would like to know what warrants and clearly defines, the awarding of an EA.

1. Is it true the method employed in the awarding of EAs varies from editor to editor?
If so, why is this the accepted policy? Should there not be a basic and well defined
guideline established for all editors to reference when judging a quiz EA worthy?

2. Should we as quiz submitters not have access to the same guidelines?

A. What is the maximum number on puncutation errors allowed before the
quiz is deemed unworthy of an EA?

B. Are there predetermined percentages used in judging quizzes, in particular
structure and content?

3. It is also my understanding, there are concerns about which players receive EAs and from
which editors. I would like to make a suggestion which may aide in resolving any concerns
in this area, attach the editor's name to those quizzes they find to be EA worthy.

4. If in fact editors do not have defined guidelines to reference, nor we as a community, it would
seem the awarding of an EA is subjective to each editors preferences. This variable alone
diminishes the value and true intent of an EA, does it not?

Surely some will wonder why I or any other player would care about an Editor's Award when
such variables exist. The answer to that is really quite simple, Sploofus promotes EAs!

5. As a community, we should offer up suggestions that result in a clearer and more defined
judging process. This is a topic of interest among many fellow quiz writers and I'm confident
the powers that be within Sploofus would welcome any constructive suggestions.

That's all!

An excellent move toward clearly defining the problem, and seeking solution.

Ladies and Gentleman that be the powers of Sploofus.

Is my thread not worthy of a reply? If no-one in a position of power wishes to address my questioning of the EA judging policy, then remove the thread.
