WHY IS PRESIDENT OBAMA SEEN FAR MORE FAVORABLY IN LEADING ARAB COUNTIES THAN THE UNITED STATES IS ACCORDING TO IPSOS POLL?

This favorable opinion reflects President Obama's diplomacy which just might put a decline in global terrorism. The arrogance of the last eight years of a faux war in Iraq started by the profiteers of a military industrial complex is declining. It' time the USA to work together on an international front with allies who respect our President in fighting terrorism which effects American and the world.

??? haven't seen any changes but suppose I'm missing something-he's still doing the drone strikes, and more troops are being sent to Afghanistan by the day. He can call the US troops anything he wants-great at renaming-but the fact is that whatever he calls them they remain in Iraq for as long as the commanders think they need to remain. Actually the fact that he is doing much the same thing that Bush did like keeping the secret wiretaps gives me a bit of confidence that he did not do too much dama ge with his apologies to the "toads"and perhaps those who wish us harm will think twice-but it is scary-dunno Linda

Well said. Bush and Blair should both hang their heads in shame at the atrocious lies they told to their own citizens.

Linda, more troops are being sent to Afghanistan because unlike President Bush, the smallest intellect of the Military Industrial Complex, was more focused on the Black Gold. That area, the Afghan/Pakistan Border, is the place where the real terrorist who bombed the WTC are growing. Those people who want to harm us are not the whole populations in those areas. Do you understand the implications there? Pakistan has nuclear weapons! If those who want to harm us ( the jihadists), get a hold of the nukes the world is in trouble. Since jihadist think anyone who doesn't convert to Islam are INFIDELS; we should be there. They want to harm INFIDELS.That would include you, me, our children, grandchildren, and the whole world could go up in a cloud or what's that term called-- is it radiation?

As far as the drones go, the US says it's those terrorist (Taliban) doing the strikes; not the US to underscore our efforts. Our President apologized and has promised to be more careful on civilian causalities. So, would you agree that was a very acceptable apology?

If you really look at the change, out President promised to go after the real terrorist and has not wavered in the reason we are in that region. President Bush did and changed the lies constantly. Remember, he wanted to find WMD's (weapons of mass deception) then it became he wanted to force democracy on a country that isn't ours. Perhaps one can say our President is more concerned about our survival than that region's politics as paradoxical as that may seem.

Yes, believe I get my problem is don't think he has a clue -a glimmer of hope that those who are actually in charge do-know o few like Nancy are sorry he selectively released the CIA memos for political purposes-can't take it back but poor Nancy doesn't have enough hands to cover her butt -

Linda, I've read your last post a couple times, but I can't understand its meaning. Could you rephrase it in correct sentence form with appropriate capitalization and punctuation? Thanks.

No, don't believe I will. Think everyone here knows how I feel about this POTUS or TOTUS take your pick-won't do anything for your amusement. Richard, never thought of you before as a "small' person-guess we all make mistakes. Why don't you say something to address the actual positive changes using correct punctuation and caps.?

You know, Dick, its hard to tell who is on the other end of a keyboard. I have a sister who plays sploofus who, due to a stroke, only has the use of one hand and sometimes her punctuation, capitalization, and words don't quite make the English teacher grade but I am grateful that she can still communicate, and so is she. So perhaps you should quit making an ass out of U and me and stop trying to humiliate people just for the sake of being mean.

Linda, thanks for the vote of confidence. I don't think I qualify. However, if I did I would reveal that Cheney's a perpetual liar and no such evidence exist in the memo that torture works as Dick Cheney said is in the memo. It's been said by an intelligence source familiar with the situation says the answer is No., not in the memo.http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/torture/source-despite-claim-cheney-didnt-really-ask-cia-to-release-torture-intelligence/...The Hague might do it for the lying Cheney and Bush though.

Perhaps he and Pelosi ought to team up-think? BTW you don't have to be qualified or have paid your taxes nor not been a lobbyist or had relatives that you gave Defense contracts to to fit into Totus's plan- Linda

Are you sure that being qualified or have paid your taxes or not been a lobbyist or had relatives that you gave Defense contracts to to fit into are qualifications? I know there was a recruitment effort in one of those agencies.

My point was that he has tax cheaters in his Cabinet many of them along with multiple lobbyists to the point that it has become a yawn issue. If the folks in Pa. want to continue to elect Dodd who awards defense contracts to his nephew guess that is their business as it is the people in Ca who continue to vote for "Nimble Nancy". The guy who fell on his sword for the flyover thing was a politician not a military person as has been precedent. The only possible defense I can think of for his choices and the choices of the voters is that the process by which politicians get elected makes the vast majority of them, corrupt on both sides so he didn't really have much from which to choose. BTW he is charming but also a politician through and through-

Beverly, dear, I want to congratulate you. You have all the Democratic Party pap down pat. You have swallowed it all hook-line-and-sinker.

Unfortunately stuff that sounds good often isn't and that is the case here. Afghanistan is never going to be anything. It is a moonscape occupied by various tribes. As I recall it has about five roads. Their biggest money maker is poppies (read cocaine), and I doubt anything is going to change that. Our mission there is simply to keep really bad things from happening; we are.

BTW in Iraq Al Qaeda has thrown everything into preventing the emergence of an Muslim democracy, but it continues to take shape. We have beaten Al Qaeda on the battlefield of Iraq. For 7 1/2 years the War on Terror has been conducted on their turf, not on ours. Osama bin Laden has been relegated to remote areas, unable to really communicate and lead his followers. He remains on the run as missiles rain down on Al Qaeda safe houses.

Our problem today is not Afghanistan, but the disintegration of Pakistan.

Beverly, there are news sites where 3 different past heads of the CIA state for the record that enhanced interrogation works. (They didn't use the word "torture" but neither did Mr. Cheney)

You people are actually defending that scoundrel Dick Cheney? What a bunch of idiots. No I know how crazy some of you are. You should have your own little prep rally. The man got elected in a fair democratic election. Your people got their ass beat. In the house as well. Now I'm hoping for some change in the judiciary. Some of you need medication. This is it for me no more politics from religious fundamentalist and raving retirees.
