HINT: IRAN'S RULING ISLAMIC CLERICS SEEM TO BE INCLINED TO TALK TO THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION.

After the journalist Roxana Saberi was detained in Iran in January 2009, our President Barack Obama asked Tehran's leaders to "unclench their fist" and move toward a greater dialogue with Washington. Despite Ahmadinejad appealing to Tehran's chief prosecutor that journalist Roxana Saberi be allowed a full defense during her appeal, Metinks this is a certain sign of the changing face of America and that walls may be slowly tumbling down. Or could it be Holocaust denier Ahmadinejad is looking for political capital before the elections?

Beverly, this is not out of disrespect for you, because I think this is a very good topic for discussion. But in view of recent objections to political posts, how can one not reply to it without it becoming political? It's a complex issue and bumps up against U.S. foreign policy -- and we know where that can lead. Just my two cents worth. Thanks. Colleen

Colleen. don't let those who object to the political posts keep you from posting as you have Great ideas. they don't like they don't have to read it.Those objections have been here since the political thing began and some got as nasty in the primary between Hillary and Totus as any do now. And as to the thought that Arab countries are looking kindly to us now have you noticed Pakistan.? Believe some Republican President way back got a bunch of US folks released from a country that didn't like us a bit. Glad the journalist is released though now if he could just convince the Pakistan gov to tell us where the nukes are located would be willing say he made a good start-Linda

Colleen, I was invited to this forum by an editor who rejected one of quizzes until I changed some of wording, which by the way should have been an EA. We've discussed that too. I never knew of this forum until then; and I've been a member almost 3 years. No, I mistaken 3 years. I missed my anniversary, wow. I'm really getting old.

Beverly, we have always talked with Tehran.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on this one.

Each of us wants what the other can't offer.
