MUSIC

Under my staircase in the cupboard I have 4 cartons of Vinyl Records...some first editions, 3 shoeboxes of cassettes, hundreds of CDs and I no longer listen to any of them. The record player no longer works, nor the cassette player, the CDs occasionally get an airing, but most of the music in our house comes off my daughters Ipod.
What do you do with all that stuff... my husband holds onto it for dear life,...as if he'll ever use them again I don't know!
What do you have in your house that fits into that category and what would you do with it?

Clothes from when I was in my 20's. They are so cute I can't bear to part with them, though not appropriate for a woman over 40. Dammit.

I also have clothes from the 60s and seventies and can't bear to part with them either.

In my recent move I discovered adoption papers that I was unaware of. OMG! What if I'm one of the many Ted Kennedy love children? Actually I was ashamed that I learned of being the owner of a Spandau Ballet LP.

I have a ton of old LP's that I have always been going to sell on eBay. Old Beatles, Kingston Trio, Joan Baez, early rock, folk etc.
I even have some 78's that I probably bought when I was stoned or drunk, whatever. I am at this very moment sitting in a room with over 1000 books dating all the way back to 1839 that someone will inherit because I hold on to them for some reason,,,,,,and that's just the beginning.

I have over 3000 records in my collection and I probably will never sell any of them as some belonged to my dad. I also keep cards. I have graduation cards from when I graduated back in 1973! I even have the cards my mom got when I was born which was in 1955! The other things I've kept are my stuffed animals from when I was a teenager. I always thought I'd have a girl and could pass them on to her but alas I had boys and they aren't the least bit interested in that stuff.

I would hold unto them too. They're probably collector's items.

I plan to turn over all my 33s and 45s and 78s to my son and dump that problem squarely on HIS shoulders!
