Love the way these were written, with little "ouches" that weren't too mean.

Peppermint Patties for the author.

I missed it. I had a room full of non fun adolescents today. A meeting after school and then another appointment. Didn't get a chance to take it. Rats.

I was out all day running errands, but I thought I would be home in to catch the puzzle. Missed it by that much.

Well, thank you kindly again for your feedback. The phrases involved some of my favorite TV shows from yesteryear, and I thought that you would enjoy solving them and learning something interesting [and surprising?].
Sorry that 1mks and Crazy4games missed the chance to play- so here are all ten clues/phrases.

"He's a Captain-not a Doc"---------william shatner was offered the lead role of doctor kildare but declined it
Secret Word: Exorcist"-------william peter blatty won ten thousand dollars on you bet your life
"B. Feldon was real Smart"-----made her tv debut by winning on the sixty four thousand dollar question
"George Fenneman"---------he was the announcer on both dragnet and you bet your life
"The first Felix Leiter"-----before starring in hawaii five o jack lord played a cia agent in doctor no
"I Spied Fat Albert"------ bill cosby was first black actor to star in an American dramatic series
"M*A*S*H"--------- this popular comedy show featured a theme song titled suicide is painless
Signpost Ahead: Rosebud"------ orson welles was originally chosen to introduce the twilight zone episodes
"First prime time cartoon"------the flintstones ran for six seasons starting in nineteen sixty
Samantha Stevens"-------- both dick york and dick sargent played hubby darrin on bewitched

I'll eat a peppermint pattie now- per Bbear's suggestion.

Had contest today, so I just slapped letters in so I could get to take the WP before running out the door. I didn't get to reminisce for a second. But Al, it's your usual great job. I got hung on the word "both." Doofus me. It's the little things.

But I greatly enjoyed it. I hadn't thought of George Finneman in a long time - and I remember him as though it were yesterday.

Keep up the great work!

I was doing great until I wasted nine letters trying to get something to turn up in "hubby." That, it turns out, is the difference between finishing in the top ten and #23. Loved it until then. [/pout]
