PHIL SPECTOR

Interested to know what my sploofus community thinks about verdict. All in all one of the pioneers of rock-n-roll music production in our time.

See this is the sad thing. The first trial brought huge interest and 6 years later no one cares. I just think it is a sad way for such a genius to end his life. I mean to you people realize what great music came about because of him.

Yes Spector was a great musician, but I haven't kept up and don't have alot to say about it. It is a tragedy, both in regards to the talent lost from Spector AND Lana Clarkson. The dude seemed crazy to me though, even before he pulled the trigger. If he has anything left to offer the community, perhaps he can put his music talents to work behind bars? Varg Vikernes has done something similar.....at least then the community would remain safe from the lunatic while we still reap the benefits of the talent God gave him.

He was a great innovator of how recorded music developed during the early to mid 60's. In that respect, he holds a place in music history. But, if you go back to when he was married to Ronnie Spector, he was obviously crazy then. He controlled her life for years, and according to her, he threatened her with promises of violence if she didn't live by his rules. It doesn't suprise me that he just spiraled out of control through the years. I think he believed his legendary reputation would keep him above the law that everyone is supposed to live by. He obviously was wrong.

I had heard similar things about him. It is amazing people who are gifted and wealthy think they are above the law.I personally don't know why a gun was even around while he was entertaining and partying. I was only noting that a person so talented with all his accomplishments you would think he would be more enlightened. It wasn't just early and mid 60's he was an innovator right on through the 70's. If you look on old albums he is mentioned all over the place. So let's not relegate him to some non-entity not worthy of noticing please.

He made the decision to relegate his own life to being unworthy. I'll honor his wishes. For me, he'll always be the murderous a-hole with the bad hair.

He does look really weird. You would think with all the money he would get a better stylist or therapist! Or both.

Bobolicios The hair is just a prelude to that crazy look on his face.

He got what he deserved. In this case, money didn't buy him a get out of jail free card.

He will always be noted for his musical innovations but the asterisk will also always be that he was a murderer. I imagine Ronnie Specter thanked her lucky stars many times that she got away from him.

Totally agree, just wish with all the talent he would have been given a kinder soul. He even tried to say he was bi-polar. I read up on him a little in Wikipedia. He is truly a piece of work, but he was inducted into RocknRoll Hall of Fame. Is listed #63 for most infuential person in rock-n-roll music.
