BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT LAST SEMI FINAL

A very disappointing show, completely taken over by a ten year old girl breaking down on the stage. She had to get through to the final after such histrionics, and brave though she was to continue, this is a talent competition not a war. The idea that they are going to put this child through an even worse ordeal tonight is bordering on child abuse in my opinion. I think Ant and Dec and the others dealt with her well, but i consider her mother a disgrace. I can't watch that tonight, it leaves a very bad taste in the mouth.

This was a terribly unfortunate ordeal for a very little girl. In the video she talks about wanting to be a singing star so people will know who she is. I doubt this is the kind of fame she was wanting.

I can't condemn the mother 100%. The girl has a fabulous voice for 10 years old. She has a dream. The thing is, all children, especially little girls, have dreams at 10 years of age. That doesn't mean they are ready to pursue them. The mother MAY NOT have realized that. She may have felt she was fulfilling her daughter's dream. On the other hand, Clevercloggs, you may be right in your assessment of her and she is the worst kind of stage mother, living her dreams through her child, pushing the little girl beyond her limits for her age.

If Susan Boyle is having trouble coping with this kind of pressure and instant fame, think what is happening to a small, frail girl.

Should there be a minimum age limit to protect the very young who are not ready for this exposure? If you do, then will you exclude a 10 year old who IS ready for the pressure? My 10 year old grandson still thinks he's Spiderman; I can't imagine him performing in front of such an audience.

I just hope the little girl is able to overcome this fear and is not condemned to relive it again and again in her mind.

I don't condemn the mother "100%". What i did find highly distasteful was her enthusiasm to push her sobbing kid back onto the stage. That child, unlike some, is not ready for that kind of exposure. There doesn't need to be an arbitrary age restriction, there needs to be better screening.

Shameful! This girl is 10 years-old! She should be trying out for her school musical not paraded on a stage in front of millions of people. STAGE MOM!!!!!!!!!!

A profound statement. I felt fear wash over me...for Hollie.

Hollie's audition for Britians Got Talent. This was posted in SD a couple of weeks ago, so you may have already viewed this video.

I cannot believe it. Dang! I think her career will take off anyway. I hope so, because I want to hear more from her.

It is sad for Hollie ... she wasn't ready ... but not because of her age ... don't forget Connie Talbot, she was only 6 and she lost to Paul Potts. She sang because it made people happy and because she loves singing more than anything in the world. She had won before she hit the stage. I bought her CD and ripped it to my computer ... every time I play her music, the world just feels better.

Susan Boyle lost the competition ... technically ... but she didn't lose herself.

Susan Boyle came second to a group ofr lads who were fantastic on the night. That is the choice of the public. I think the media's hounding of Susan Boyle did her chances no good. The GUTTER PRESS really were right down there with this.
