Lodi beat me to it --

Susan Boyle lost. I just saw the news.

She lost to Diversity, a hip-hop group, whose performance wasn't all that great. Why? Susan sang the same song she sang the first night. Why? Simon gave a nice speech after she sang and assured her that, no matter how the contest comes out, Susan proved something to the world.

Is something going on here?

Audience votes put Diversity over the top, not the judges. That's how they swarmed Susan. I tried to imagine this dance group performing before the Queen, and seeing her tight, polite nod. I tried to imagine Susan performing before the Queen; I could even see her break protocol for the 2nd time this year and give her a huge hug.

Sad part might seem like the $$$ ... I think Susan has a better than good chance of catching up and surpassing ... this is just the beginning.

She was gracious, she was classy, she was Susan. Whatever her critics say tells more about them than her. Simon was right, she beat them.

I agree and believe Susan, like Adam Lambert, will have a great future maybe especially because they both came in second.

I think it would be a nice gesture if Susan were able to sing for the Queen. She's mentioned several times that she would love to do that.

Command performances have occurred before -- at least it's nice to think about it happening.

I do think the dance group did a fantastic job on some difficult choreography and deserved the applause it received. I loved the enthusiasm of the smaller kid with glasses -- what a thrill, what an opportunity for him.
