Will it work? Yeah, it will start choosing a candidate, and since we have not been patient with non-performing Presidents in the present day, it could be the next Prez.

I guess you will enjoy it all from the South of France with amusement and curiosity.

Bobo, I do follow on CNN primarily, but I don't like our primary system. It has degraded into elections where the candidates appeal to the extremes in their parties. The moderates I prefer usually get squeezed ouot because moderate voters who decide general elections don't vote in primaries.

I just can't believe they are already at it. Why would Palin waste her time and money she was a liabilty as running mate let alone for President. They would crucify her she was definitely not liked even in her own party. I mean really what a caricature.

Collioure, do the Rasmussen pollsters call you for your opinion there in France? I suppose you could help shape the Iowa caucus toward the middle, if they do call

"Our," Don?

When I wrote, "Will that work?" I was referring to the link. It's so
long it runs off my screen.

After the straw poll last year, and Huckabee's win, one of our
political science profs said, "Iowans should pick corn. Let the rest
of the country pick a president."

Beverly, I vote in Illinois and in general I believe our Presidential primary system has the effect of eliminating moderate candidates in both parties.

If you're a winger, and it seems that you are, you should be very happy with the way things are.

Me? I don't think how loud you can shout, "I am for a woman's right to choose," or "I oppose the taking of innocent life," is a very good measure of a candidate's suitability for the Oval Office.

Two questions, both foolish, Beverly.

Andy continues to claim to be a "moderate", although his posts on Sploofus convince me that this is self-delusion on his part. I would say he is not even a moderate by US standards -- let alone a "moderate" by the political spectrum in France -- his current country of residence.

TSK, I would not be in the center in France, but in the US Senate I prefer the conservative Dems and the liberal Reps, what few are left.
