I got this email in today's lot. It had a nice logo which cannot be viewed here, and a link to a website I tracked to Italy. Needless to say, it is a scam to get information from you. Don't fall for it.

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have
determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $869.
Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 3-9 days in order to
process it.
A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons.
For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

I got something similar. You can forward it to Abuse I don't remember if that's the correct link. But if it isn't forward it to IRS. How many Nigerian e-mail scams did you get today in your box today?

I had forwarded it.
I got one Nigerian style one, too. A lot of them actually originate in the UK these days.

My mom got a tax rebate scam call. Luckily she's smart enough to know the IRS doesn't call. Thanks for the update, Tuz

Fudy is right. The IRS doesn't call or email to request information. See,,id=179820,00.html for how to avoid and report such scams.

They called me once. Not a very comfortable conversation. Not wanting information, wanting money. So I gave them some and they quit calling. Ever since, I just send the money so they won't call me. Works like a charm.

So, is this a scam?

No, Ron, but their address has changed. I'll send it to you.
