I'd like to use my Showdown tokens wisely. But I don't know how or where to use them. Please help.

You get a wager token each time you advance to a new level (by answering 10 questions correctly). IF you have signed up for it on your profile, you will get 5 wager tokens on your birthday!!!! WhoooHOOOOO!

If you wager and miss the question, you will lose all of your level points. For example, if you were at level 15.5 (5 questions answered correctly at Level 15) wager, and miss the question, you will be bounced back to level 15.0 and have to start all over on that level.

I made that mistake only ONCE. So, I generally save my wagering for when I've just advanced to a new level. Then, I wager only on a category that I feel confident in. From your profile, I see that your best categories are in Vocabulary and Sports Soup ... so you might want to start by wagering there. As you gain confidence, you can branch out into other categories.

Good Luck and Happy Sploofusing!

Oops! I just answered for WAGER TOKENS and not SHOWDOWN tokens. Sorry!

Ok. Here's the actual and factual answer to your question.

To stage a Showdown, go to "My Sploofus" link on the upper right side of your screen. Under "LINKS", you'll find the "Stage a Showdown" link.

Once you click that link, you will be shown the name of the person that you will challenge -- one above you on the All-time Leaderboard. You can always check out that person's profile to see what that person's strengths are and what their showdown percentage is (ie: how many showdowns they've won).

Here is the official description from the Sploofus Survival Guide:

Each week, you will receive ONE Showdown Token. These tokens may be accumulated and redeemed at your leisure. Showdown Tokens allow you (the challenger) to challenge the Sploofus player immediately AHEAD of you on the current all time leaderboard (the challengee). If you redeem a showdown token, a notice will instantly be sent to the challengee. You and the challengee will then be given a random Sploofus question from the challengees current game play level. You will both be given the exact same question. The challengee then has 7 days to respond to your challenge. If he/she does not, you win the showdown. Otherwise, the player who answers the question correctly the fastest, wins. If you (the challenger) wins, you are credited 10% of the challengees total Sploofus Points; the challengee however does not lose those points. Only the challenger assumes risk with this system. If you (the challenger) loses, the challengee claims 10% of your total Sploofus Points. In the event of a stalemate (both the challenger and the challengee answer the question incorrectly) no action is taken.

Good luck!

Look at who you will be challenging today: Sheila04456

She has a 0% winning percentage, which means she hasn't probably been
challenged before. She is at level 51 after being a member for almost three
years. She has three badges. Her average answering time is 13.09.

You're level 8 after 6 months. You're average answering time is slightly
slower and you have two badges. You also have never been in a showdown.

I'd call it a tossup. But look at it this way, if you lose it's only 60,000 points.
That's a week's worth of word puzzles.

Do it.

Koota and Foogs gave very succinct advice.
It appears that J3px has jumped a lot of points this week, so congrats on being a solid player and fast learner.

Al...By seeing his/her profile, how can you tell that a player has 'jumped' a lot of points?
