SOUPY SALES PUZZLE

Lots of fun, though I keep getting him mixed up with Jerry Lewis!

Enjoyed the puzzle as well! And - I'm kinda happy that I'm too young to remember someone (for a change)!

Loved Soupy Sales and loved this puzzle. Thanks so much, Al.

Felt like I really aced this quiz--it was definitely right up my alley--but alas, Anne and Gary kicked butt as usual.

I don't know if Soupy Sales invented the pie in the face, but he certainly made it an art form. Nice work, Al.

Thanks to everyone who played and for their comments. Most scored very well, so that's satisfying. The Soupy Sales fans had an advantage, of course, but there was a lot of information about his career if you Googled.
There are several You Tube videos out there to watch.
Here's a short link that features him singing and "mousing" around. I bought that record [I was much younger then.]

Yes, a pie in the face [25000 times] is an art form- yummy, or maybe not!
Here are all ten phrases- Soup's on!

he created a popular dance sensation called the mouse ("Hickory Dickory Dock")
born milton supman he turned eighty three years old earlier this year ("Whassup man?")
soupys soda shop is considered televisions first teen dance program ("Dick Clark came later")
youngest of three his family called him soup bone later shortened to soupy ("Hambone & Chicken Bone")
claimed to have been hit with over twenty five thousand pies in his career ("His trademark")
soupy called white fang the biggest and meanest dog in the usa ("Raah-Oh-Raah-Oh-Raah")
soupy called black tooth the biggest and sweetest dog in the usa ("Giant black shaggy paw")
soupy appeared as a regular panelist for seven years on whats my line ("Enter & sign in please")
his dogs white fang and black tooth and pookie the lion and hippy the hippo ("His show's pet menagerie")
caused an uproar when kids mailed him dollar bills taken from their parents ("Those funny green papers")

Enjoyed you WP, Al. I loved Soupy Sales - I had an uncle who looked a bit like him - and acted like him a LOT.

Soupy Sales was a top-notch comic and yes, the pies in the face became an art form as well as a trademark. Great puzzle. Thanks for reminding us about this great talent.
