I just sat through being very close to a tornado in Rhome. I've never seen such a huge wall cloud, nor one that moved so quickly. On my way home, I decided to turn around and head away from home, and within 5 miles, I was suddenly almost completely surrounded by black clouds and huge wind gusts. I found shelter cocooned by some brick buildings, under an awning. It was like watching TV reports of a hurricane - I was totally out of the wind, but right beside and in front of me I watched sheets of water and trees blowing violently.

I sat there 30 minutes till everything was clear enough to drive. But the storm is moving so quickly it's heading all different directions toward other Sploofusers.

Please let us know you're ok.

I can see on the Weather Map, Janice, the red line coming through Ft. Worth. I am in West Tennessee so I can see the watch boxes to the West and looks like they may be headed our way. It's just hard to tell where they'll be coming through until they get closer.

Hope you and all the others in the path stay safe.

I've been in baseball sized hail before, which was the most scared I had been of weather - until today. I'm glad God answered all those prayers out there, because there were many stranded on the side of the road unable to even SEE the road for awhile. I haven't heard of anyone hurt, but there were lots of firetrucks and patrol cars running with lights everywhere the rest of the way to my house.

Rotating wall cloud went through my neighborhood at about 60 to 70 mph. Sirens went off but tornado warning expired and all is well.

Whew - I'm so glad you're ok, Pepper. That stinkin' cloud is moving so quickly (and I see it did split the way they said it might) that there are THREE new tornado warning areas north of Tyler. That's an amazingly fast and powerful cloud full of energy.

They even called out the cross streets near my house on the local news. That was a little too close for comfort. I'll have to check on the path of the storm to see if it is still moving that fast...

We had amazing lightning in the NY area two nights ago - never saw anything like it. No hail, but the lightning seemed to go on forever. I hope I never experience a tornado. Glad you all are safe.
