WAGERS ON TQOTD?

I seem to recall that when I first started Sploofusing, I had an opportunity to place a wager every time I took a QOTD. Now I only am given the chance to place a wager once in a blue moon. Is that how the system is set up, or am I experiencing a techno glitch?

There *were* a couple of times when I placed a wager and then was unable to submit the (correct!!) answer; I had to just sit by helplessly, watching the time run out. Might that have something to do with the current paucity of wager opportunities?

Thank you for any insights/info you might have!

You get a wager token each time you achieve a new level, and you get to a new level for each 10 questions you answer correctly. If you are at level 6.5 you need to need to answer 5 more questions correctly to reach 6.0 and get a wager token, which you can use to place a wager on any question you receive thereafter.

However, non-paying players can't use their wager tokens, and they pile up. You probably had a bunch piled up when you went Gold, and when you used them up, you went back to getting one token for each level achieved.

Ah, that explains it. Thank you so much!

And on a wager if you answer incorrectly you go back to .0 of that level. If you wager at 7.5 and get it wrong you go back to 7.0.
So find a category you are strong in and bet the max on those questions. You can save a question for up to 10 days.

caveat to Spacecat's post- with optimum timing, you can store up to 11 TQOTD's.

What do you mean, "storing up TQOTD's"? So if you stored 11 you could wager 11 if you had 11 to wager?

What do you win if you wager 1 and you get the correct answer? Thanks. woo

_______________________________________________________________________________________

People "store up" TQOTD in order to wager when they are at a new level, say 11.0 instead of 11.5 as not to lose the .5 level points should they wager and get the question the wrong. If you did have eleven wager tokens, you could wager eleven times, but most people wait for a certain category before they wager. If you are good at vocabulary, you would wait (store up) your questions until one arrived. If you had eleven TQOTD's stored up, it doesn't mean you can wager eleven times, that depends upon the number of wager tokens showing at the top of your screen.

What do you win if you wager 1 and you get the correct answer?

It's basically a betting system, if you "wager" 100,000 points, you win 100,000 points if you get it right. If you lose, you lose that 100,000 points.

Hope that makes sense!

I sort of get it; guess I'll try it when I hit 8.1 (or can I do it at 8.0 and if I lose I still stay at 8?). Thanks.

Yeah, it's best to try at 8.0, because then you stay at 8.0! If you try at 8.1 and lose, you will go down to 8.0 again.

Stoutyoungladd knows [as well as many others].
We learned the intricacies of Sploofus as we gained experience.
Bet with your head- not over it.
Have fun anyway. It's only a game.
