It's been positively un-Scottish recently: hot enough for thunderstorms. I saw rain today that I've only ever seen in Jamaica, or maybe Florida in summertime. (Not the normal Scottish perma-drizzle.) Then this happened,

just few miles up the road from me.

How is it where you are?

We miss so much of the rain in Kent, but we just caught a great strorm. I have built raised veggie plots this year, they needed the rain. My Staff Saxon needed a break in the humidity too.

You brits are funny, clevercloggs you give it your all on political posting. Then you muse on about the weather, just like proper british gents!

We haven't seen rain in over a month, which is very unusual for this time of year (for those that don't know, our weather is very similar to the British Isles). I've been swimming in the Nanaimo River for over 2 weeks & the water temperature feels more like August. Love being able to swim this early but the poor flora & fauna are suffering. They're calling for rain for tomorrow but you know how often the weatherman is right. Once it starts raining it will probably rain for 2 weeks thus ruining the strawberry crop, weather is just like politics, rarely a happy medium
