Sweet puzzle, Pat. Did you just retire?

No hard words.

Thought my 30 would not be in the top 10, but I was mistaken

Collioure's Corollary:

No matter how well you do on a WP, the person just ahead of you on the monthly leaderboard will have a better score.

I quit my job last August and I thoroughly enjoy it. But, as the one puzzle said, the "pay" isn't all that great!

So, today I start a very part-time job (at least at this point). The visitors' bureau has an old Union Pacific caboose just off Interstate 80, near a small lake and the Veterans' Memorial. It's a visitors' center and I'll be helping staff that. Since I just signed on, the manager can give me just an afternoon here and there, but he's sure he can give me more hours as the summer goes on.

I'll be doing my 2 favorite things: Sitting down and talking!

Thanks for the kind words about my puzzle. And for those of you who are envious of my retirement, just keep having birthdays and you'll get to retire someday, too!

Loved the puzzle as I've been retired and unretired many times, but finally not working any paying jobs. You've inspired me to look for more volunteer work and go out in the garden! Got my 15 year pin for doing taxes (AARP TAXAIDE) and can't wait for more next year -- one of the best volunteer ops in the USA IMHO. Thanks for the retirement tips.

Thanks Pat, fun puzzle I was forced into retirement 17 years ago & I know all the tricks, which is probably why I did so well.

The pay may not be great but oh those perks

Wonderful puzzle Pat!
You are making the most out of your retirement.
As you said, you can volunteer regularly, play Sploofus and spend as much time in chatrooms as you want.

I'm not jealous however.
