I sincerely hope that an editor sees this post and pulls it. This would be one of the times that I would be in favor of censorship.
You are a crass, noncaring individual. I would hate to be you.

I didn't think that was so bad. Just think of all the other MJ jokes that we will be hearing in the near future, and why has this freak suddenly attained "Sainthood" status?

Excellent question, Don, was wondering that myself during the news channel media blitz last night.

Nothing improves the reputation like untimely death.

I was at a conference a few years ago and I heard a presentation discussing
this exact issue. The abstract of the paper is below.

You can all do your own research by opbserving how Jackson's life is framed
in the next couple of days.

“It Takes a Sinner to Appreciate the Blinding Glare of Grace”: Rebellion
and Redemption in the Life Story of the “Dark” Celebrity
by Carolyn Kitch Temple University

This article uses narrative analysis to consider the use of the language of sin and
redemption in American journalistic eulogy for 4 recently deceased male celebrities—
Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Marlon Brando, and Richard Pryor—in leading
entertainment and news magazines including People, TV Guide, Entertainment Weekly,
Rolling Stone, Time, and Newsweek. Thematically united by their well-known misbehavior,
these men were the kinds of public figures whose stories had to undergo some
sort of narrative repair to have a happy ending; furthermore, these celebrities were
eulogized within a broader popular culture increasingly characterized by memorial,
therapeutic confession, and faith-based political conservatism. Coverage of these 4
deaths was remarkable in the extent to which temptation, sin, and the possibility of
redemption were openly discussed in journalism, and each celebrity’s struggle with
his demons was understood as representative of modern American life.

This isn't some personal vendetta between me and the departed Jacko. There is a tradition of this kind of humour in the UK, and i love sick humour anyway. You don't get the kind of humour we Brits churn out bt being "prissy". We have a football team in London called West Ham United, their supporters are famed for singing "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles"...........perhaps i'd better leave it there !

I'm a West Ham supporter. (I hear the cries of 'I would never have guessed....')
For 15 years I went occasionally to the ground; never saw trouble though i knew it was there... then the Heysel stadium disaster turned me off soccer for good.

Jank, sorry luv but I love that video. I love the Rolling Stones, saw them in concert. I love that song, it is not to be taken in such a biblical context. That is just a great old video clip with Brian Jones WOW. Sorry more of a Stones fan than MJ. However you have to admire the talent of MJ. I do get Dave's sick sense of humor and his Brit dark humor as well. Come on guys lighten up!

Okay, so I like Clevercloggs AND his sense of humor, even though our belief systems are diametrically opposed. I'm just crazy like that.

You want to see sick MJ humor? Go to Facebook. There were some that were downright disgusting.

Actually didn't think Clevercloggs' post was all that bad and I'm probably one of the most fuddy fuddy-duddies here!

Perhaps our selective memory of printing and saying only nice things about people who have died but led less than great lives goes back to not speaking ill of the dead.

I'll miss Farrah. She showed that she was more than just a pretty face. They were doing her tribute on the news, and interrupted it to talk about MJ. One has to wonder if having his hair catch fire during the Pepsi commercial caused a change in him. He was pretty sane before then.

I can relate to Clever's humour. There is definitely a wicked streak in British humour.
By the way Gary I was at Upton Park (West Ham's home) once many years ago (and I'm a Spurs fan). Leaving the ground was one of the scariest experiences of my football-supporting life. I was literally propelled/forced down the stairs by the force of the crowd. Had I fallen over I could have been seriously hurt. Football is very different these days.
