Nice job!

I had a clue that I thought was Welsh but turns out I was wrong. Not enough LL's, W's, U's or Y's.

Great puzzle, Gary. I liked the theme and the clues/answers.

I lost my momentum with phone interruptions, but I wouldn't settle for an incomplete.

Thanks to all who took and enjoyed it. The top 5 as of 7:59 Sploofus time were:
Oldcougar, Digs, Virtus, Daveguth and Foogs with some really great scores.

Here are all 10:
(and several of the clues were actual puzzles - the answers to those are at the bottom of the post)

A rebus uses letters words or symbols to represent a saying or phrase (spy-y+loose+fuse-see)
Lewis Carroll invented doublets where one word is changed into another (word ward ware dare dame game)
The answers to the clues are entered by number to spell a famous phrase (A. Acrostic 9 17 4 35 12 8)
A jumble is a scrambled word game commonly found in newspapers (drwo zlpuze)
Hangman is a guessing game for two or more players ( _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ )
Crossword puzzle grids come in many styles depending on the country (1A 5A 9A 1D 2D 3D 4D)
The clue in a cryptic crossword is a word puzzle in and of itself (1A Site confuses silly cat)
Word search puzzles may have originated in Spain (AQZPUZZLEBMN)
The popularity of cryptograms is traced to Edgar Allan Poe ( LTAM SCNNRFB GHF QCZ)
In a word mine you try to form other words out of a master word or phrase (WORD PUZZLE: zero dozer)

The rebus is Sploofus
The doublet transforms the word "word" into "game"
Of course the jumble is word puzzle
And Hangman has 4 and 6 spaces for Word Puzzle
The cryptic crossword clue, Site confuses silly cat = Sploofus (Site = web site; silly cat = puss - silly because it's mixed up and confuses = fool spelled backwards)
The cryptogram is "Word puzzles are fun"
And I'm sure there are lots and lots of words that can be made out of Word Puzzle

Sorry for those who got the cryptogram one first - I'm sure they thought there were in Wales for a few minutes
And a special thanks to Sploofizz who helped with adjusting some of the clues and phrases to substantially improve my initial submission.
Have a wonderful week all (and to all USers - a Happy and safe 4th of July)

Thanks so much for the acknowledgement; it was my pleasure to help out!

But you forgot to translate the Cryptogram above. It's a toughie, too, with only three letters repeating in more than one word! For anyone still wondering, it works out to "Word Puzzles are fun"!

I feel like I'm watching re-runs of the 60s Batman
television series.
