Oh, you mean Dominion Day.

Enjoy the fireworks, barbecue et al.

This year I will miss both 4th of July in the USA and Bastille Day in France, but I will have another chance to dance the sardana in the town circle with my village neighbors in August.

No, I mean Canada Day, formerly Dominion Day July 1st is Canada's national holiday much like your Fourth of July. While I'm thinking of it, Happy Independence Day to all my American friends this weekend

Is Canada celebrating independence? Or is it just a "Hooray Canada" day? Do you have fireworks, etc.? If so, I hope its more than just the snakes & sparklers.

Joe Dirt: So your gonna' tell me that you don't have no black cats, no roman candles, or screaming mimis?
Kicking Wing: No.
Joe Dirt: Oh come on man. You got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers?
Kicking Wing: No, I don't.
Joe Dirt: You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?
Kicking Wing: No... because snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like.

Thanks all Rayley there should be a big fireworks display tonight, not sure where in Vancouver.

Lodi, its not really an independence thing, though the name changed from Dominion to Canada Day when we became a Commonwealth realm as opposed to a Dominion. Which means, we still have a Queen but she & the UK virtually have no power over us. I still like having her
