This guy said it happened because he didn't take his meds. Smaug's meds tend to make him strip down nekkid, not prevent it.

I just hate when that happens.

Yes, it's all very amusing. I can well believe he is bipolar. If you really were his relative you probably wouldn't be joking about it. I know. My mother has suffered from bipolar disorder for almost 30 years. Taking your clothes off in public pails into insignificance when compared with a myriad of things that go on all of the time in the world.

I know it appears to be funny. However mental illness is really no laughiing matter. Surely there is something we can discuss that won't be condescending to people who truly suffer from mental illness. Obviously the man is under arrest and for serious crimes all do to the fact that the airline noticed strange behavior and allowed him on the plane anyway. He says he remembers nothing which is symptomatic of bipolar episode when you don't take your medication.

I was married to a man who was bipolar, and he was the single funniest person I ever knew. Everything that came out of the guy's mouth was hilarious; it was what initially attracted me to him. He was a riot talking about his "episodes" after he was diagnosed, too. We were told that a high degree of intelligence and humor are hallmarks of the condition. Maybe something to do with seeing things from two different perspectives? Or maybe that was just his therapist pumping sunshine up his self-esteem.

Nowadays if you take your clothes off on an airplane, everybody on earth can see you.

What a world.

Don't worry I haven't gone off in a huff or been mortally offended. I can laugh at some of my mother's episodes but there have been others that weren't a laughing matter at all. Creative people sometimes do their best work during an episode.
Serious crimes? - lashing out when you are about to be cuffed. Lots of people would do it.

Lots of people do not Lash Out when about to be cuffed. Lots of people never ever get cuffed. Maybe this guy was bipolar, or maybe he was using it as an excuse. I am on medication, for something less serious, yet I never FORGET to take my medication. Throw the book at him.
