Went to buy ONE postage stamp yesterday at the Post Office. I use so few stamps these days I just buy the occasional stamp from the machine. But - no machine. Nada.

So I had to go in and stand in line to buy it.

I asked about the machine and the clerk said ALL stamp machines are being removed from all Post Offices because they are so old that parts no longer are available to repair them.

It strikes me that every time I've ever been to the PO, the lines are always slow moving and prohibitively long already.

Anyway, just FYI and so you are forewarned, the lines will now be even longer.

My 401K consists mostly of the one cent stamps left dangling on stamp machines. I am unsure what my next move will be.

Too funny, Felix. Perhaps it's time to resort to can collecting?

Think yourselves lucky you are only losing stamp machines: over here the whole Post Office network is being slashed

Canada Post was raising its prices so often & I guess it cost money to produce 1 & 2 cent stamps that now when you buy stamps they are good even if the price goes up. for Canada Post

I know, right? The stamp machine was a guaranteed slot machine winner.
