Just a second for Clevercloggs' mention of Floyd's Final Cut.
Vastly unappreciated, probably because it followed The Wall,
but a deeply angry and insightful album.

Whew! Compiling this list took a long time - but it was a very enjoyable trip down memory lane. (Sometimes "lack of memory" lane - I had to Google to jog the brain)

First song you ever bought on vinyl: Bread - Baby I'm-a Want You (Album)

Favorite song you saw LIVE at a Concert: "River of No Return" (Tennessee Ernie Ford at Tri-State Fair in Amarillo)

Favorite lyrics from a song: "Rise Again" - Dallas Holm & Praise

"Go ahead, try to hide the Son; But all will see that I'm the One!
'Cause I'll come again!
Ain't no power on earth can keep me back!
Yes, I'll come again;
Come to take My people back."

Favorite song to dance to: "Joyful Joyful" (finale Sister Act 2 - I learned all the dance moves to teach and arranged the music for two different middle school choirs - nothing's better than a stage full of MS guys and girls singing and dancing this song! )

Favorite house cleaning song: "Hymn to Red October" - Basil Poledouris (I've worked with the lead tenor, Steve Amerson)

I'll try to stick to popular songs that are excessively obscure for the purposes of this survey Rick.

First song ever heard (can ya remember that far back?)
Dunno, rock-a-bye baby maybe???

First song you ever bought on vinyl (OR CD/Ipod ... now we're showing our age!)
It's never happened.

Favorite song you saw LIVE at a Concert:
Probably Zac Brown Band playing the Devil Went Down to Georgia, only because it improved the original, tho it doesn't sound good over youtube for some reason. The song kicked a@@ live.

Favorite lyrics from a song:
Really, depends on what I'm going through in life. Off the top of my head, I would say No Pigeons by Sporty Thievz right this very second, for personal reasons of course. Great insults in that song.

Favorite song to dance to:
I don't dance.

Favorite house cleaning song:
Right now, Boom Boom Pow by The Black Eyed Peas

Best Driving song ... even IF you don't drive (I don't!):
Honestly, I've played out most of the music I generally listen to, but probably anything by Sublime, because I can just let their CD's play.

Most Inspirational Song:
Tie here, maybe I'm still standing by Elton John from my childhood or more recently Stronger by Kanye West

Favorite song from a movie:
Off the top of my head maybe Take a Look Around by Limp Bizkit that I can remember

Favorite song from a stage musical production:
My Favorite Things- The Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version

Favorite song about friendship:
Kryptonite- Three Doors Down

Song(s) you would have at your own funeral:
Maybe Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode (hehe) or Happy Trails

Song that reminds you of ...

Yourself -
????

Mother -
Any Cat Stevens song, but probably Wild World because it's the song by him I like the best and not because of the lyrics. It's a running joke in our family.

Father -
Pick a Bail of Cotton by Leadbelly

Your Children or other family member-
My friends child- again, Boom Boom Pow- Black Eyed Peas
she goes crazy and dances everytime it comes on.

Favorite Christmas Song -
Silver Bells

Just an observation but it would do some of the political posters some good to look at this thread and post. Maybe it would lighten up the mood around Salty dog and make for better relations in general on sploofus I love to read this kind of thread. Does that mean that you all would rather argue than share musical tastes.
